  • 1/2 head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or lard
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (optional for Asian-style)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
