Egg Waffles, also known as bubble waffles, are a beloved street food from Hong Kong, where they originated as a popular bakery and night-market snack. Recognized by their distinctive bubble-shaped texture, these waffles are crisp and lightly caramelized on the outside while remaining soft, fluffy, and cake-like on the inside. This classic egg waffle recipe is gently sweet, rich with eggy aroma, and incredibly versatile, making it perfect for both casual snacking and creative desserts. Traditionally enjoyed plain and fresh off the iron, egg waffles are now commonly served folded or rolled, topped with ice cream, fresh fruit, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, or even savory fillings, making them a global street-food favorite loved by all ages.
