Grilled Maple Salmon Ingredients :

  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets, skin removed
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

How To Make Grilled Maple Salmon :

1

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a large zip-top plastic bag. Add the fish, seal the bag, and marinate in the refrigerator for 3 hours.

2

Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

3

Remove the fish from the bag, keeping the marinade. Pour the marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until it is reduced to about 2 tablespoons, approximately 5 minutes.

4

Place the fish on the grill rack or pan coated with cooking spray. Grill for 4 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily with a fork or reaches your desired degree of doneness. Occasionally baste the fish with the reserved marinade while grilling.

5

Remove the fish from the grill and sprinkle with salt and pepper before serving.

Recipe Notes:

Marinate the salmon for 3 hours for maximum flavor infusion — the longer soak lets the sweet-sour notes deeply penetrate the fish.

Simmer the marinade in a saucepan until reduced to about 2 tablespoons—this concentrates the flavors and makes the perfect glaze.

Baste while grilling to build layers of sticky, caramelized flavor, and finish with a sprinkle of salt and pepper for balance.
