For the Juice:
- 2–3 large pomegranates (enough to yield about 2 cups of juice)
- 1–2 tablespoons sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup cold water (optional, for dilution)
- Juice of 1/2 lime (optional, for added zing)
For Serving:
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves (optional)
- Pomegranate seeds (optional, for garnish)
Prepare the Pomegranates:
Score the pomegranates and break them open.
Carefully remove the seeds (arils), discarding the white pith.
Rinse the seeds under cool water to remove any remaining pith.
Juice the Pomegranate:
Place the seeds into a blender or juicer.
Pulse or blend for 15–20 seconds until the seeds release their juice.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl or pitcher to remove pulp and seed bits.
Press down with a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.
Sweeten and Flavor:
Add sugar or honey to the juice and stir until dissolved.
Mix in cold water if you prefer a lighter taste.
Add lime juice for a citrusy kick (optional).
Serve:
Fill serving glasses with ice cubes.
Pour the juice over ice.
Garnish with a few pomegranate seeds and mint leaves if desired.
Recipe Notes :
Pomegranate Selection: Choose heavy, bright-red pomegranates; they tend to be juicier and sweeter.
Sweetener Choice: Adjust sugar or honey to match the fruit’s natural tartness; skip if you prefer it fully natural.
Dilution Ratio: Use cold water sparingly to lighten strong flavor while preserving richness.
Garnishing Tips: Add fresh mint leaves or a few whole pomegranate seeds when serving for added aroma and texture.
Storage Time: Fresh juice can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days; stir before serving if pulp has settled.
