- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (plus extra for serving)
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
For Serving:
- 4–6 soft sandwich buns
- Coleslaw (optional)
- Pickles (optional)
Pulled Pork Sandwiches Instructions:
Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper to create a dry rub.
Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
Place pork in a slow cooker; pour in barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and water.
Cook on low for 6–8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
Remove pork from slow cooker and shred using two forks.
Return shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with cooking juices and extra barbecue sauce for flavor.
Toast sandwich buns lightly if desired.
Assemble sandwiches: pile pulled pork onto buns and top with coleslaw or pickles if using.
Serve hot with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
