- 3 tablespoons taco seasoning (homemade or from a 1 oz packet), divided
- 2 cups sour cream
- 2-3 cups guacamole (homemade or storebought)
- 2 cups shredded Mexican-style or cheddar cheese
- 4 Roma tomatoes, diced (about 2 cups)
- ½ to 1 cup sliced black olives (2-4 oz), adjust to taste
- ½ bunch green onions (about ¼ cup), finely chopped
- ½ small bunch cilantro (about ¼ cup), finely chopped
How to Make 7-Layer Dip Recipe:
Warm the refried beans in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl until softened and easier to spread. Stir in half of the taco seasoning. Spread this mixture evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 glass casserole dish.
Layer the guacamole on top of the beans.
In a separate small bowl, combine the sour cream with the remaining taco seasoning. Spread this mixture over the guacamole.
Sprinkle evenly with cheese, followed by tomatoes, black olives, green onions, and cilantro. Serve alongside tortilla chips for dipping.
Recipe Notes:
Variations: Customize your 7 Layer Dip by adding cooked ground beef, Greek yogurt, diced bell peppers, jalapeños, homemade salsa (drained), black beans, or corn for extra flavor and texture.
Storage: Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Serving Tip: For a spicier kick, consider adding sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce to the top layer
