Golden Granola Recipe Ingredients :
- 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup nuts and seeds (such as almonds, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup coconut oil or vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 cup dried fruit (such as raisins, cranberries, or apricots), added after baking
How to make Golden Granola:
Preheat the Oven:Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Mix Dry Ingredients:In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, nuts, seeds, shredded coconut (if using), salt, and cinnamon.
Combine Wet Ingredients:In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the coconut oil (or vegetable oil) with the honey (or maple syrup) and vanilla extract until combined. Remove from heat.
Combine Mixtures:Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is evenly coated.
Spread and Bake:Spread the granola mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown.
Cool and Add Dried Fruit:Once baked, remove from the oven and let the granola cool completely on the baking sheet. Once cooled, stir in the dried fruit.
Store:Transfer the granola to an airtight container. It can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Recipe Notes :
Customizations:Feel free to customize the nuts, seeds, and dried fruits based on your preferences. This granola is very versatile!
Sweetness:Adjust the amount of honey or maple syrup to your desired level of sweetness. You can also omit it for a less sweet granola.
Add-Ins:For extra flavor, consider adding spices like nutmeg or cardamom, or mix in protein powder for an additional nutritional boost.
Chunky Granola:For clumpier granola, press the mixture down firmly on the baking sheet before baking and avoid stirring too much while it bakes.
Storage:Keep the granola in an airtight container to maintain its crispiness. You can also freeze it for longer storage.
