For the Filling:
- 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (or beef, or beans for vegetarian option)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
- 2 tablespoons salsa or sour cream (optional, for creaminess)
For Assembly:
- 8–10 small flour or corn tortillas
- Olive oil spray or cooking spray
Optional Toppings:
- Guacamole
- Sour cream
- Salsa or pico de gallo
- Chopped cilantro
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Make the Filling:
In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken, spices, cheese, and salsa or sour cream.
Stir until well combined.
Assemble the Flautas:
Warm tortillas slightly to make them pliable.
Place 2–3 tablespoons of the filling near the edge of each tortilla.
Roll up tightly and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
Lightly spray the tops with olive oil or cooking spray.
Bake:
Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, turning once halfway through if needed.
