Tebasaki Yakitori Recipe – Japanese Special

Chicken wings, known as tebasaki in Japanese, can also be served skewered. Although they have less meat compared to other chicken cuts, they are incredibly flavorful and delicious when prepared correctly. The meat itself is tasty, but it becomes even more flavorful when coated with a savory and sweet sauce. In this recipe, we’ll prepare tebasaki skewers using a straightforward method.

Tebasaki yakitori Ingredients :

  • 100 ml sake (Japanese Wine)
  • 1kg chicken wings tip
  • 12 bamboo skewers
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Vegetable oil

How To Make Tebasaki yakitori

1

Soak the bamboo skewers in water for 30 minutes.

2

In a saucepan or bowl, combine the chicken wings, sake, and oil. Chill for about 2 hours.

3

After the chilling time, drain excess liquid.

4

In a medium-sized saucepan or bowl, mix 2 teaspoons of salt and a pinch of pepper. Reserve half of this mixture for serving, and rub the remaining half onto the chicken wings.

5

Thread the chicken wings onto the bamboo skewers. Set aside once threaded.

6

Preheat a mini-grill or charcoal grill over medium heat.

7

Place the chicken wings yakitori skewers on the grill to cook. Cooking each side thoroughly may take about 5 minutes per side. Flip the skewers every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking until the wings are golden in color and fully cooked.

8

Once all the chicken wings yakitori skewers are cooked through, remove them from the grill.

9

Transfer the skewers to a serving plate and sprinkle with the reserved salt and pepper mixture.

10

For garnish, squeeze some lemon juice over the Chicken Wings Yakitori Skewers and add lettuce leaves before serving.

11

This dish is best enjoyed immediately after grilling while it is still hot.
