Falooda Recipe – Indian Special

Falooda Ingredients :
- 1 tablespoon sweet basil seeds
- ½ cup water
- ½ packet falooda sev or thin corn noodles (available in Indian grocery stores)
- 4 to 6 tablespoons rose syrup
- 1 cup milk (low fat or full fat)
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
Garnish (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon sliced pistachios
- 1 tablespoon edible dried rose petals
How To Make Falooda Recipe
Begin by soaking the sweet basil seeds in water.
Boil 3 cups of water. Using kitchen shears, cut the falooda noodles into 2 to 3-inch long pieces and cook them according to package instructions. Drain in a colander, rinse with cold water, drain well, and set aside.
In two tall glasses, assemble the drink by layering 2 tablespoons of soaked sweet basil seeds, 2 tablespoons of cooked noodles, and 2 tablespoons of rose syrup.
Pour 2/3 cup of milk into each glass. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Garnish with thinly sliced nuts and rose petals. Stir gently and add more rose syrup if desired. Serve immediately.
Recipe Note
Soak Basil Seeds: Soak 1 tablespoon of sweet basil seeds in ½ cup of water for about 30 minutes until they swell and form a gelatinous texture.
Cook Falooda Sev: Boil 3 cups of water, add ½ cup of falooda sev, and cook according to package instructions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
Layer Ingredients: In tall glasses, layer 2 tablespoons each of soaked basil seeds, cooked falooda sev, and 2 tablespoons of rose syrup.
Add Milk and Ice Cream: Pour 2/3 cup of chilled milk into each glass and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
