Italian Double Cheese Pizza Ingredients:
- For the Dough: 1 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp caster sugar
- 2 ½ tsp instant yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- For the Sauce: 1-2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- 2 cups tomato puree
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ tsp sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves
- For the Toppings: Olper’s cheddar cheese (as required)
- Olper’s mozzarella cheese (as required)
- Sliced chicken pepperoni
- Crushed red chili
- Garlic powder
- Dried oregano
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
How to make Italian Double Cheese Pizza:
Prepare the Sauce: In a saucepan, heat cooking oil and sauté garlic. Add tomato puree, salt, sugar, dried oregano, and fresh basil leaves. Cook for 2-3 minutes and set aside.
Prepare the Dough: In a small jug, mix warm water, caster sugar, and instant yeast. Let it rest for 5 minutes. In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add cooking oil and mix until crumbly. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until a dough forms. Let it proof for 1 hour.
Assemble the Pizza: Roll out the dough and place it on a pizza pan. Spread the prepared sauce, followed by cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and chicken pepperoni. Sprinkle crushed red chili, garlic powder, and dried oregano. Grease the sides with cooking oil.
Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake the pizza for 20 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
