Mozzarella Cheese Bombs Recipe Ingredients:
- 12 oz (340 g) mozzarella cheese sticks (or use mozzarella balls if you prefer)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian seasoned or plain)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying (or use cooking spray if baking)
How to make Mozzarella Cheese Bombs:
Prep Cheese: If using mozzarella sticks, cut them into bite-sized pieces. If using mozzarella balls, ensure they are well-drained.
Set Up Breading Station: In one bowl, place the flour.
In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
Coat Cheese: Roll each piece of mozzarella cheese in the flour, shaking off excess.
Dip it into the beaten eggs.
Coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat for all cheese pieces.
Fry or Bake:
Frying: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium heat. Fry the cheese bombs in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
Baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the cheese bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Lightly spray with cooking spray. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
