Alfajores Recipe – Spanish Special

Alfajores are a cherished Spanish dessert known for their tender, crumbly texture and warm, spiced flavor profile. Made with almond cookies blended with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, then sweetened with honey, these delightful treats are often dusted in powdered sugar or sprinkled with sesame. Slight variations include a citrus hint from orange zest or swapping honey for molasses. Whether baked for a holiday gathering or enjoyed with afternoon tea, Alfajores make a wonderfully festive cookies indulgence.

Recipe Notes :
Spice Adjustments: Tweak the amount of cinnamon, cloves, or nutmeg to suit your taste—if you prefer milder spice, reduce cloves or omit one spice.
Almond Meal Quality: Use finely ground almond meal for a smoother dough and better mouthfeel; coarser meal gives more texture.
Storage Tips: Store Alfajores in an airtight container; they stay fresh for up to one week. The flavors deepen over time as they rest.
Serving Suggestions: Dust with generous powdered sugar, serve with Spanish coffee or tea, or arrange them on a festive platter for gifting.
