Asian Turkey Meatballs Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 whole green onion, chopped (both green and white parts)
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
Asian Sauce:
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/8 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Green onions and sesame seeds for serving, if desired
How To Make Asian Turkey Meatballs:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped green onions, egg, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Mix thoroughly using your hands.
Grease a baking sheet with oil. Form the mixture into 12 meatballs, using slightly wet hands to prevent sticking.
Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until fully cooked.
Remove from the oven and toss the meatballs with the Asian sauce.
Serve immediately, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
For the Asian Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine hoisin sauce, low sodium soy sauce, water, and sesame oil. Stir well until thoroughly combined. Set aside until ready to use with the meatballs.
Recipe Notes:
If you plan to freeze the meatballs, refrain from tossing them with the sauce until you are ready to serve.
