- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken stock
- 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1–2 lemons)
- 2 tbsp capers, drained
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Chicken Piccata with Lemon Sauce Instructions:
Pound chicken breasts to even thickness (~1/2 inch) and season with salt and pepper.
Dredge chicken in flour, shaking off excess.
Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sauté chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through; remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add white wine (or chicken stock) and lemon juice; scrape up any browned bits.
Stir in capers and remaining butter, letting sauce thicken slightly.
Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over the top.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with pasta, rice, or vegetables.
Recipe Notes :
Pound chicken to an even thickness for uniform cooking and tenderness.
Dredge in flour lightly to achieve a golden crust without heaviness.
Reduce sauce slightly for a more concentrated lemon-caper flavor.
Finish sauce with butter for a silky texture and rich taste.
Serve immediately with pasta, rice, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
