French Fries Ingredients:

  • Potatoes: 4 large russet potatoes (about 2 pounds or 900 grams)
  • Vegetable Oil: for frying (such as canola, peanut, or sunflower oil)
  • Salt: to taste

Optional Ingredients:

  • Black Pepper: freshly ground, to taste
  • Paprika: for a hint of smokiness and color
  • Garlic Powder: for added flavor
  • Parmesan Cheese: grated, for topping (after frying)

How to make French Fries:

1

Prepare Potatoes: Peel and cut into thin strips. Soak in cold water to remove excess starch.

2

Heat Oil: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

3

Fry Potatoes: Fry in batches until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.

Recipe Notes:

For extra crispy fries, consider double frying. First fry at a lower temperature, then cool and fry again at a higher temperature. Serve immediately for the best texture.
