Gänsebraten Recipe – German Special

Gänsebraten is a classic German roast goose dish traditionally served during festive celebrations such as Christmas and special family gatherings. This hearty and flavorful recipe features a whole goose seasoned with simple spices and stuffed with apples, onion, garlic, and aromatic herbs before being roasted slowly in the oven. The slow roasting process allows the fat to render gradually, creating a beautifully crisp golden skin while keeping the meat tender and juicy. Gänsebraten is commonly paired with traditional German side dishes such as red cabbage, potato dumplings, and rich gravy, making it a comforting and memorable holiday meal enjoyed across Germany.
