Honey Walnut Pastry Ingredients:
- 8–10 pastry sheets (phyllo or thin puff pastry sheets)
- 1 ½ cups walnuts, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder (optional)
- Honey Syrup
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Honey Walnut Pastry Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish lightly.
Mix chopped walnuts with sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
Place one pastry sheet in the dish and brush with melted butter.
Repeat layering 3–4 sheets, buttering each layer.
Spread a generous layer of walnut mixture evenly.
Continue layering pastry sheets and walnuts until used up, finishing with pastry on top.
Brush the top layer well with butter.
Cut into squares or diamond shapes before baking.
Bake until golden and crisp, about 30–35 minutes.
Meanwhile, simmer honey, water, and lemon juice for 5 minutes to form syrup.
Pour warm syrup evenly over hot baked pastry.
Let rest for at least 30 minutes before serving.
