Kesme Helva Recipe Ingredients :
- 4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar
- 7 ounces melted unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How to Make Kesme Helva Recipe:
Place the flour in a wide saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat for approximately 15 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it turn yellow. Gradually add the sugar, stirring well until fully combined.
Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly using a spoon or your hands, taking care as the mixture may be very hot, until it resembles a sand-like consistency. Press the mixture firmly into a 9×9-inch pan.
Cut the mixture into either baklava shapes or squares.
Chill until firm, approximately 1 to 2 hours, then serve.
Recipe Note:
Press Firmly: After mixing, press the mixture firmly into the pan to ensure it holds together when cut.
Cool Completely: Allow the helva to cool completely before cutting to achieve clean edges.
Store in Airtight Container: Keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Optional Add-ins: For added flavor, consider incorporating ground nuts or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Serving Suggestion: Serve chilled or at room temperature for the best texture and taste.
