Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps Ingredients:
- 500g (1 lb) ground turkey
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms (optional)
- 1 small carrot, shredded
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce (optional)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1–2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Butter lettuce or romaine leaves, washed and patted dry
- Chopped peanuts or sesame seeds (for garnish)
Sauté the Base:
In a skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, and onion. Sauté until fragrant.
Cook the Turkey:
Add ground turkey. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked.
Add the Veggies:
Stir in mushrooms and carrots. Cook for another 3–4 minutes until softened.
Make it Saucy:
Add hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Stir well to coat the turkey mixture evenly. Cook until everything is heated through. Season to taste.
Assemble Wraps:
Spoon the turkey filling into lettuce cups. Top with green onions, peanuts, or sesame seeds.
