Basic Crepes Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)

How To Make Basic Crepes :

1

In a medium bowl, lightly beat the eggs. Add all remaining ingredients and beat until the batter is smooth.

2

Heat a crepe pan or a 7 or 8-inch skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Lightly grease the pan with oil.

3

Pour a scant 1/4 cup of batter into the hot pan, immediately tilting the pan until the batter evenly coats the bottom. Cook until the edges begin to dry and the center is set. Flip and cook the other side until it turns light brown. Fill with your desired filling.

Recipe Note

Resting the Batter: Allow the batter to rest for at least 30 minutes to ensure smooth crêpes and prevent tearing during cooking.

Non-Stick Skillet: Use a non-stick skillet or crêpe pan for easy flipping and even cooking.

Garnishes and Fillings: For sweet crêpes, try fillings like whipped cream, fresh fruit, or chocolate spread. For savory options, consider fillings such as ham, cheese, or sautéed vegetables.

Serving Tip: Serve crêpes warm with your choice of toppings or fillings for a delightful meal.

Storage: Store any leftover crêpes in the refrigerator for up to two days, placing parchment paper between each crêpe to prevent sticking.
