Chateaubriand Steak Ingredients:
- 500–700 g beef tenderloin center cut (châteaubriand)
- Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- Fresh thyme or rosemary
- Optional sauce (béarnaise, red wine, or mushroom sauce)
Chateaubriand Steak Instructions:
Bring the beef to room temperature before cooking.
Season generously with salt and black pepper on all sides.
Heat olive oil and butter in an oven-safe pan over high heat.
Sear the beef on all sides until deeply browned.
Add garlic and fresh herbs to the pan.
Transfer the pan to a preheated oven at 200°C.
Roast until desired doneness is reached.
Remove from oven and rest the meat for 8–10 minutes.
Slice thickly and serve with sauce if desired.
