Sizzling Sherry Shrimp with Garlic Recipe – Spanish Special
Sherry, garlic, and olive oil blend with paprika to infuse these sizzled shrimp with a Spanish twist. In Spain, sherry or lemon juice isn’t always included, but either can provide a delightful contrast to the richness of the garlic-infused oil. This recipe also pairs beautifully with squid or scallops.

Sizzling Sherry Shrimp with Garlic Recipe Ingredients :
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons dry sherry
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped Italian flat-leaf parsley
How To Make Sizzling Sherry Shrimp with Garlic :
Heat olive oil, garlic, red pepper flakes, and paprika in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the oil is hot and the garlic turns golden brown, about 1 to 2 minutes. Increase the heat to high and add the shrimp. Cook until the shrimp turn bright pink on the outside and the flesh becomes opaque, approximately 3 minutes.
Pour the sherry into the skillet and bring it to a boil, scraping the browned bits off the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Garnish each serving with chopped parsley.
Recipe Notes :
If desired, substitute lemon juice for the sherry.
