  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 150g (5 oz) Brie cheese, sliced
  • 1 ripe Asian pear, thinly sliced
  • 1–2 tsp lemon juice (to prevent pear from browning)

  • Fresh thyme leaves or chopped walnuts (optional, for garnish)

Toast the Bread:

1

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

2

Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.

3

Bake for 6–8 minutes until crisp and lightly golden.

Prep the Pear:

4

Thinly slice the Asian pear and toss with lemon juice to keep it fresh and bright.

Assemble:

5

Top each toasted baguette slice with a slice of Brie and a pear slice.

6

Return to the oven for 2 minutes, just until the Brie starts to soften.

Garnish and Serve:

7

Drizzle with honey or balsamic glaze.

8

Sprinkle with thyme or chopped walnuts, if using.

9

Serve warm or at room temperature.

Recipe Notes :

Cheese Tip : For best results, slice Brie while it’s cold, then let it warm slightly before serving.

Bread Swap : Try using sourdough, multigrain, or ciabatta for variety.

Flavor Boost : Add a thin layer of fig jam or apple butter under the Brie for extra sweetness.

Party Prep : Toast bread and prep toppings in advance. Assemble and warm just before serving.

Pear Substitution : If Asian pear isn’t available, Bosc or Anjou pears work well too.
