Italian Sandwich Ingredients:
- 1 crusty Italian hoagie roll or ciabatta, sliced
- 2–3 slices Genoa salami
- 2–3 slices capicola or mortadella
- 2–3 slices deli ham or turkey (optional)
- 2 slices provolone cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 2–3 tomato slices
- Thinly sliced red onion (optional)
- Pickled pepperoncini or banana peppers (optional)
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)
- 1 tbsp Italian dressing or olive oil & vinegar blend
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- Dried oregano or Italian seasoning, for extra flavor
Prep the Bread:
Slice the hoagie roll lengthwise, keeping one edge intact if desired. Lightly toast if preferred.
Layer the Ingredients:
Spread mayo (if using) on the bottom half. Layer meats, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and peppers.
Drizzle & Season:
Drizzle Italian dressing or oil & vinegar over the toppings. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and oregano.
