For 2 servings:
- 2 fresh limes (or lemons)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black salt (kala namak)
- 1/4 teaspoon regular salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala (optional, for extra tang)
- 1 cup chilled soda water (carbonated water)
- 1/2 cup cold water (optional, for diluting)
- Ice cubes as needed
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
- Lime slices (optional, for garnish)
Prepare the Lime Mixture:
Squeeze the juice of the limes into a bowl or jug.
Add sugar, black salt, regular salt, and chaat masala.
Stir well until the sugar and salts are completely dissolved.
Mix the Drink:
Add cold water (if using) and mix.
Just before serving, pour in the chilled soda water and give it a gentle stir. Be careful not to lose the fizz
Serve:
Add ice cubes to serving glasses.
Pour the nimbu soda into each glass.
Garnish with mint leaves and lime slices if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing zing

Limes vs. Lemons: Limes are more traditional and tangier, but lemons can be used if limes aren’t available.
Sweetness & Salt Levels: Adjust the sugar and salt according to your taste. Some prefer it sweeter, while others like it saltier.
