For 2 servings:

  • 2 fresh limes (or lemons)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black salt (kala namak)
  • 1/4 teaspoon regular salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala (optional, for extra tang)
  • 1 cup chilled soda water (carbonated water)
  • 1/2 cup cold water (optional, for diluting)
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Lime slices (optional, for garnish)

Prepare the Lime Mixture:

Squeeze the juice of the limes into a bowl or jug.

Add sugar, black salt, regular salt, and chaat masala.

Stir well until the sugar and salts are completely dissolved.

Mix the Drink:

Add cold water (if using) and mix.

Just before serving, pour in the chilled soda water and give it a gentle stir. Be careful not to lose the fizz

Limes vs. Lemons : Limes are more traditional and tangier, but lemons can be used if limes aren’t available.
